Repair and rebuilding was done over about 2,5 months. Plates of longitudinal bulkheads, internals in side tanks, bottom tanks and tank top were replaced. In the mentioned tanks all ballast pipes were replaced for new ones.

The cargo hold was adapted for new cargo by fitting two sloped bulkheads.
Rebuilding also included the building of rails along coamings, and making two gantries driven by hydraulic motors. One of them was built together with a cutting machine for grinding down the cargo.

After fitting the gantry onboard, it was equipped with a diesel and hydraulic motors.
Second gantry was prepared for fitting an excavator enabling self loading and unloading.

During repair/rebuilding over 200 tons of steel were fitted.

Unisteel also carried out design works like:

• casing of gantry for cutting machine project,
• slopped bulkheads in cargo hold project,
• separate tank project,
• working documents and programs for numerical cutting of plates.
